Mike is a head of security in a local fast food restaurant chain. Mike has some bias toward new technologies, he is active keypad phone user and tv watcher. Despite that limited habits he has deep knowledge of latest security technologies and practice a lot. He has age-related farsightedness and needs glasses to interact with screens. He has a granddaughter and is an active buyer of children's toys and entertainment.

Digital wireframes
Taking the time to draft iterations of each screen of the app on paper ensured that the elements that made it to digital wireframes would be well-suited to address user pain points. For the home screen, I prioritized a quick and easy ordering process to help users save time.
As the initial design phase continued, I made sure to base screen designs on feedback and findings from the user research.

Using the completed set of digital wireframes, I created a low-fidelity prototype. The primary user flow I connected was building and ordering, so the prototype could be used in a usability study.

Usability study: findings
I conducted two rounds of usability studies. Findings from the first study helped guide the designs from wireframes to mockups. The second study used a high-fidelity prototype and revealed what aspects of the mockups needed refining.
Round 1 findings
Users are accustomed to making purchases within marketplace applications
Our main competitors are not other bands, such as the Rolling Stones, but rather large marketplaces such as Amazon, Etsy, eBay, and Walmart
Round 2 findings
1
The checkout process has too many unnecessary steps
We need to identify a feature that can increase user retention and provide entertainment value beyond shopping

Early designs allowed for some customization,
but after the usability studies, I added additional options to color quantity and size. I also revised the design to remove drop-down lists from buttons and deleted the search window from the screen.

High-fidelity prototype
The second usability study revealed the need to identify a feature that can increase user retention and provide entertainment value beyond shopping
The solution is an AI-powered chatbot called 'Chat Beat' which allows users to converse with any of the four members of The Beatles, providing entertainment value beyond shopping and potentially increasing user retention
The final high-fidelity prototype presented cleaner user flows for purchasing process and checkout.Type R to view splash screen animation
